Originally founded by Dennis J Weatherall as a divisional part of his former company (Allways Travel) in the late 1980's. Since then Battlefields of the World has grown into its own, boasting a wide range of battlefield visitation tours, veteran 'return' visitations, commemmorative event programmes, and now currently Australia's only "badged" member of the highly qualified and traing Guild of Battlefield Guides (UK). Apart from our own product Battlefields of the World is also a local representative for several other operators, giving us a wide and varied product range on offer. Over the years Battlefields of the World has been involved with regular trips for Anzac Day services in Gallipoli, regular study trips for the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) as well as one off special commemorations such as 50th Anniversary of the Fall of Singapore.
Dennis J Weatherall is the Managing Director of Battlefields of the World as well as its creator and its main guide. Dennis has a leanghty history in both the travel industry having his career in the travel industry career as well as in the military having joined the navy as a young 12 year old and serving for a period of time in both regular forces and reserves before retiring from the services as a Warrent Officer. Since his military retirement Dennis has taken the opportunity to combine his love of travel with his love of military history with Battlefields of the World. After years of growing the company Dennis became involved with the Guild of Battlefield Guides and after an invitation and rigorous testing he became the first badged member (qualified guide) belonging to the Guild in Australia.
