The Kokoda Track Trek
The Kokoda Track, or as it is sometimes incorrectly called the Kokoda Trail, is something only the fit and adventurous should attempt. An arduous treck across the highlands of Papua New Guinea, this is not an area known for its 4 star hotels ! That said, the Kokoda Track Trek is the experience of a lifetime and one of the few "pilgrimages" that Australians feel compelled to do - similar to Dawn Service at Gallipoli on Anzac Day.

Thai-Burma Death Railway
Immortalised by the Movie "Bridge Over The River Kwai", the battlefields and the prison camps of this region of Thailand were nevertheless true experiences of hell for those who were interred here as POW's. The Thai-Burma Death Railway was one of World War II's most recognised fields of conflict and pain.
